Urban Abstracts & Exploration
“Abstraction generally involves implication, suggestion and mystery, rather than obvious description.” – Robert Genn
Most of us live in or near cities, and we often forget the incredible photographic opportunities to be found there. Every city has a wealth of hidden treasures to discover in the urban realm – from the amazing graphic forms in architecture, the obscure or historic elements that are slowly disappearing, to the outright quirky and bizarre subjects hiding in plain sight. I never fail to return with a great photograph whenever I take a photography excursion through my city.
Besides the surprising and artistic scenes you can find in any city, the practice of “Urban Exploration” encourages you to use and enjoy your own city. Urban Abstract photography is one of my most popular presentations, photo walks and workshops.
