Standing Still in the Silence

While exploring the convention centre area I saw a man standing completely immobile – a lone figure, frozen in place, on a walkway that’s usually bustling with people. I was in the area for about 40 minutes making images and he never moved. I wondered – was he meditating with the silence of the city, was he overwhelmed by the dramatic change in his world, was he at peace or in the paralysis of overwhelm?
